The Complete Guide to Container Types

20ft & 40ft Dry Container

The workhorse of global trade. Ideal for boxed, palletized, and general cargo. A 40ft HC (High-Cube) offers an extra foot of internal height for volumetric shipments.

Reefer (Refrigerated)

Temperature-controlled from −25°C to +25°C. Used for pharma, produce, seafood, and chocolate. Requires plug-in power at origin, transit, and destination.

Open-Top

For cargo that needs top-loading — machinery, tall equipment, project cargo. Covered by a removable tarpaulin.

Flat-Rack

No walls or roof. Used for oversized cargo: vehicles, boats, construction equipment, steel coils.

Tank

ISO tanks for bulk liquids — food-grade, chemical, or hazardous. Includes heating and pressure options.
